For Christmas this year, STR teamed up again with the amazing charity ‘Fair Ways’, to help make Christmas a magical time for their foster families.
For those of you who haven’t heard of Fair Ways, it is a leading children’s services charity, delivering Fostering, Education, Residential, Mental Health and Family services. They strive to make a difference through the provision of passionate care, support and education that children and adults in care deserve.
Each year, the charity goes out of its way to make sure all of their families are surrounded by Christmas spirit and, as a business dedicated to giving back to the local community, we wanted to help through the STR Gifting Tree!
At the beginning of December, we set up a Christmas tree in our office and attached gift tags to it. The tags detailed the ages and genders of the children in their foster families. All our colleagues were then invited to collect a tag and buy an appropriate present, wrap it up and pop it back under the tree. Fair Ways then came to collect the gifts on 14th December to distribute to their families in time for Christmas.
This year, the charity requested board games, and we’re super-proud of our generous team, who piled up the presents under the tree, helping put a smile on the faces of so many girls and boys this Christmas.
