This Halloween, we thought we’d take the opportunity to enjoy a spook-tacular office Halloween party, with a day of fun, frights and festive team spirit!
Halloween isn’t just for kids, at least not at STR! It’s the perfect time for our teams to break out of their working day and embrace the spooky spirit! Our recent Halloween office party brought costumes, competition and camaraderie to a whole new level. From eerie decorations to wickedly fun activities, our day was packed with laughter, sweets and a little friendly competition. Keep reading to check out the spookiest highlights, funniest moments and, of course, who won the coveted ‘Best Dressed” award!
Festive fun
The kitchen was decorated from floor to ceiling with scary spiders, spooky skeletons and perky pumpkins, and, in the middle of it all, a festive feast for everyone to dig in to. Check out our photos below!
The main event this year was the apple bobbing competition. Working in recruitment for many a year, we thought we knew the meaning of ‘competitive’, but until you’ve seen our Executive Director, Nathan Sutton, step up to the plate (or cauldron in this case), you have no idea. Nathan had his apples out within about 5 seconds (we barely had a chance to start the timer), plus most of the water. Our other competitors, Charlie Smith, Jack Norton, Emma Hopping and Sophie Flude had a good go, but couldn’t even come close on this occasion! Nathan quite rightly walked away feeling very pleased with himself and just a little damp, with his well-deserved prize – a bottle of Prosecco and tub of Heroes chocolates.

Incredible costumes
Next, it was time for the award that everyone was looking forward to… Best-Dressed Brand. All our staff entered into the spooky spirit with some incredible costumes and it was a tough call to decide the winners, but in the end the award had to go to Blackfield Associates. Our particular highlight being Mario, Luigi and Bowser – great job guys! The whole brand wins a team lunch to enjoy together.
As a last minute decision, the judges felt they also had to award an Individual Best-Dressed prize for the most spook-tacular effort we’ve ever seen, our beautiful Vampire Queen (and Payroll and Treasury Manager), Lou Shallish!
This STR Halloween day has been the best we have had, so thank you to marketing for organising it all, particularly Hannah Macdonald. I’m delighted to win!” commented Lou, who’s been with the Group for 18+ years. Check out how incredible she looked! Her Prosecco and Celebrations were well-deserved.
